Chip + Pepper news in CAN

For all you non-Californians, California Apparel News is a trade magazine that keeps the fashion industry informed about fashion, retailing, manufacturing and textile information affecting the California fashion industry. Content includes fashion sketches and photography reviews of manufacturers fashion collections, news reports of interest to the industry and personality profiles. In this week's CAN the announcement of the Chip+ Pepper store closing in Newport Beach, CA was announced. Tear. Yes, the news is very sad but as Belgian naturalist Charles Dubois said, "The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

Looking for models can be a tough job. Thankfully we are in LA where beautiful people walk the streets. I traveled to the 9000 building on Sunset to a little office on the 12th floor. Stopped by Creative Recreation office to fit the back to school C7P look on Ms Lauren. Official looks to come.

New edition of Sportswear International!

Sportswear International Magazine a global industry publication that focuses on smart, young, sophisticated, casual, contemporary style has started a North American news edition as of May 2009. We are super happy that our men's fall Bush Pilot in Two Bear made the first edition!

CP denim on VH1 Top 20 Countdown

Sweetheart Alana at Vh1 requested some denim for Jim Shearer, host of Vh1's Top 20 Countdown. Below are some stills of Jim interviewing Plain White Ts. Jim is wearing style 87 made of selvage denim. For all you non-denimheads selvage denim is a type of denim which forms a clean natural edge that does not unravel. It is commonly presented in the unwashed or raw state. Typically, the selvage edges will be located along the out-seam of the pants, making it visible when cuffs are worn. (thanks wikipedia)

Style 87 is a low riding slim straight leg jean named after the year Pep and Chip exploded onto the fashion.

A day at LA: LAB

Chip + Pepper are proud to say their denim is American made. Nowadays, not many clothing companies can say this. The LAB is headquarters. In the middle of Los Angeles (aka Vernon) there is a huge warehouse full with Chip + Pepper memorabilia. It's all over the place. So, I thought it would be fun to share random findings and post them for all of you to see. Chip + Pepper Vault. Pretty original name, right? Enjoy our first pick.

Matthew McConaughey is a BIG CPU fan especially for his alma mater University of Texas. If you google Matthew McConaughey and Longhorns you will see a dozen pictures of Matt sporting the CPU shirt.
